About Tenerife Travel Tips
Tenerife advice shaped by living on the island, exploring it slowly in detail, and seeing how different it feels far beyond a short holiday
Hi, I’m Anya, the person behind Tenerife Travel Tips. I’ve spent more than three years living on the island and exploring it far beyond the obvious resort areas, which is why this site focuses on practical, experience-based advice rather than generic roundups.
Why This Site Exists
I created Tenerife Travel Tips because Tenerife deserves more depth than it usually gets online. There are so many resources with a lot of content about the island that stays very surface-level, repeats the same places, is clearly written by AI, or is for search result first and real travelers second.
I wanted to build something useful and based on personal experience only, with practical advice that helps people understand this island better before they go. While Tenerife is the main focus here, I also write selectively about other Canary Islands I explore in person, starting with Gran Canaria.
How I Explore Tenerife
My experience of Tenerife comes from living here long-term, moving around the island often, and returning to places more than once instead of seeing them only on a quick trip – simply because I love it here and have chosen to spend so much time getting to know Tenerife better.
Everything I publish on this site is shaped only by personal experience of the island. I write only about places I personally visited, areas I’ve stayed in, restaurants and cafes I’ve actually tried, and parts of Tenerife I’ve spent real time exploring.
That also means my guides are more selective. I’d rather recommend a smaller number of places I genuinely rate and would return to than publish long lists built for volume alone. My goal is not to include everything, but to include what I believe is actually worth knowing.
Who This Site Is For
This site is for travelers who want more than a quick list of attractions. It is useful for first-timers who are planning a first trip to Tenerife and for returning visitors who are trying to choose between north and south, looking for areas that feel quieter or more local, or simply wanting a more realistic sense of what the island offers.
Tenerife Travel Tips is also for people who are living on the island or have been here many times and want to find new ideas for what to do in Tenerife and gain new experiences.
About Me
I am originally from Ukraine and have spent years living in different countries, but Tenerife eventually became my home. What began as a trip turned into a much deeper relationship with the island, and over time it became one of my real bases.
Because of that, this site is not built from a one-off holiday or a short collaboration stay, but from daily life, repeated exploration, and a long-term connection with Tenerife.
Not a quick holiday guide. Tenerife site shaped by time, return visits, and real island experience.
What You’ll Find Here
On Tenerife Travel Tips, you’ll find practical guides on where to stay, how to plan a trip, what different parts of the island are really like, and which places are worth your time.
I also share road trips and itineraries for different lengths of a trip, island-wide finds, some of the hidden gems, and guides based on places I’ve explored personally.
Tenerife is the main focus of the site, while Gran Canaria and other Canary Islands are added gradually as I continue exploring them in person.
Alongside free guides, I also offer my interactive Tenerife map and a custom itinerary planning service for travelers who want help putting everything together in a more practical, personalized way.
My goal with this site is simple: to help you plan a Tenerife trip with more clarity, better choices, and a fuller picture of the island than you get elsewhere.
